Feltre

Feltre is a gem. Nestling in the foothills of the Dolomites, it offers easy access and breathtaking alpine scenery.

It can be reached easily and cheaply by air via Treviso or Venice Marco Polo. From there, it is a 90 minute train journey to the town itself.

Feltre has the lot: beautiful architecture, plenty of culture in the form of museums, galleries and arts verities, and a friendly population.

Take advantage of cheap car hire from Treviso and explore the province of Belluno, with its opportunities for riding, sailing, climbing, walking, skiing, fishing, and hang gliding. Or just drive up into the mountains and enjoy breathtaking views from some of the roads where the original 1969 version of The Italian job were filmed.

In and around Feltre, the Roman remains are a must-see, as is the tranquil Sanctuary of Saints Vittore and Corona, a cloistered abbey on top of a hill a short distance outside the town.
