It is with a heavy heart that we announce the death of the lovely Jackie Snell who died peacefully on Tuesday 2nd September. Many of you knew Jackie – a small woman with a huge personality! For many years she provided the catering for our AGMs, and baked delicious cakes for our coffee mornings and the garden parties that she hosted in her garden at Bucklebury. Jackie also went on many Twin Town trips and was a very sociable person.
Gillian Durrant remembers her fondly holding court at the carnival costume sewing sessions in her dining room – she was always keen to take part in Twin Town activities, and it is only in recent years in her declining health that she hasn’t been so involved. Fortunately in April this year Zita was able to meet up with her and award her with a lifetime membership of the Association to show her how appreciative we all were for her involvement over the years.
We are in contact with her daughter Jane and will forward on details of the funeral when we have them.
